ACTIVITIES

We help you plan every moment of your stay at Borgo Santolina. Enjoy a wide array of included activities or take advantage of our many local partnerships. Your days can be as active or as quiet as you like. Lounge by the pool or hike ancient Etruscan trails, join a garden harvest, learn to cook, taste wine and olive oil, ride horses at sunset or one of our many other activities. When the place is yours alone, anything is possible.

FOOD & DRINK

At Borgo Santolina, a meal is about connection as much as cuisine. Our in-house chef provides seasonally-led menus for every meal with ingredients harvested from our garden. We abide by the tenets of slow travel and “Zero Kilometer” living—anything we do not grow ourselves, we source locally from our community.

We can also arrange meals offsite with our favorite local restaurants or at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants in the region. But after that first glass of wine in the garden, you may never want to leave.

THE ORGANIC FARM

We are a working farm first, and believe ourselves to be stewards of our small part of Tuscan history. We farm in accordance to natural principles, and work with the land instead of against it. While our main focus is olives and lavender, our intention at Borgo Santolina is to create a harmonious relationship between our food and the land by planting orchards, native edible plants, medicinal gardens and plenty of attractions for the native pollinators.

In the Val di Merse, the heart of Tuscany.

While the Val di Merse and Borgo Santolina may feel a world apart, both are easy to reach and ideally located for exploring the beautiful region of Tuscany. The borgo is just 30 minutes from the historic city of Siena, and sits between the Chianti and Montalcino wine regions. Montepulciano, the Val d’Orcia, and the Tuscan coast are also within easy reach.
